At midnight Ranu senses the presence of something unusual and calls her husband Anis. Anis tries to calm Ranu down with a reasonable explanation. Anis was not worried about the matter. The reason for her interest is that she is a student of psychology. Ranu also talks about this with the teacher Misir Ali. Misir Ali goes to Ranu's village to unravel the mystery of Ranu's abnormality and supernatural powers. According to Ranu, when he was young, he had an unpleasant incident. Someone grabbed his leg while bathing in the river. Later it was seen that a corpse was wrapped around his legs. Ranu has been like that ever since. But many in the village can't remember the incident. Everyone says that one day a villager took Ranu to Vishnu temple for his own lust. But the man fled from there in fear. Since then, the white idol of Vishnu temple has not been found. Meanwhile, Neelu went to meet a boy in a restaurant. Ranu understands the incident. Ranu falls ill at this time. He starts talking to someone due to fever. Once Ranu dies. At that time Nilu also got the news. When Neelu is asked, Neelu says that some unseen force has killed the boy who took him away. Misir Ali explains the incident, says the normal image of the excited mind. But since then Misir Ali has seen a different change in Nilu. After the incident, Nilu's face became like Ranu's. Misir Ali was unable to unravel the mystery.

Humayun Ahmed was a Bangladeshi novelist, short story writer, playwright and lyricist, screenwriter, and filmmaker. He is one of the most popular Bengali novelists of the twentieth century. He is considered as one of the best writers after the independence of Bangladesh. He is the father of a new style of dialogue in Bengali fiction. On the other hand, he is the pioneer of modern Bengali science fiction. He is also acclaimed as a drama and film director. The number of his published books is more than three hundred.
